Underdog Teams Up with zerohash to Launch Crypto and Stablecoin Deposits

Cointelegraph · Nate Kostar

Underdog, a prediction market operator, has partnered with crypto infrastructure provider zerohash to bring cryptocurrency and stablecoin deposits to its platform, with the new feature set to roll out by the end of this year.

Eligible users will have the ability to top up their Underdog accounts directly through the app using supported digital assets, offering nearly instant transfers at any time, according to a recent announcement made on Thursday.

While the exact cryptocurrencies and stablecoins that will be accepted have not been disclosed, Underdog has yet to provide further details or respond to inquiries from Cointelegraph prior to publication.

This new deposit option will complement existing payment methods such as debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and bank transfers. Notably, users won’t have to handle wallet addresses or choose blockchain networks when making deposits.

Established in 2020, Underdog currently has over 11 million registered accounts, based on information from IG Group, which agreed in July to acquire the company in a deal valued at up to $1.3 billion. The acquisition is anticipated to finalize between late 2026 and early 2027.

DeFiRate reports that Underdog saw a trading volume of $1.4 billion over the 30 days ending on October 21, marking a 133% increase from the preceding period. Nevertheless, this volume is significantly lower compared to Kalshi’s $81.5 billion and the combined $17.2 billion from Polymarket’s US and international platforms.

Underdog’s integration of crypto deposits through zerohash represents a forward step in expanding payment options, aiming to enhance user experience and market competitiveness.

Why it matters

By enabling cryptocurrency and stablecoin deposits, Underdog broadens its accessibility and aligns with the growing demand for crypto-based funding in prediction markets.
