HOW TO READ THISFive states in plain EnglishShow the explanation
Sustained rise

Price is not moving up in a single jump: the shorter average is above the longer one and the direction is sufficiently pronounced.

Sustained decline

Price is falling consistently, confirmed by the direction of the averages and the measured strength of the move.

Range-bound

Neither buyers nor sellers have a clear advantage. Price is fluctuating without a persistent direction.

Compression

Price swings have become unusually small. This often precedes a larger move, but it does not tell us its direction.

Transition

The old condition has broken down, while a new one is not confirmed yet. Directional measurements disagree.

How are these measurements calculated?Open methodology

Market condition is calculated from closed hourly candles. We compare price with 20 and 50-hour exponential averages, measure directional persistence with ADX, normal movement with ATR and compression through Bollinger Band width.

Movement strength from 0 to 100 describes how pronounced the move is relative to the asset's normal fluctuations. It is not a probability of price going up and not a recommendation to buy or sell.

CVD is the running difference between aggressive market buys and sells. For each hour: 2 × taker-buy volume − total turnover. We divide the result by turnover so Spot and Perpetual markets can be compared.
