LTH Supply

Shows the amount of Bitcoin held in older, long-unmoved coin bands. A rising supply is consistent with holding and accumulation; a falling supply means old coins are reactivating.

WHAT IT MEASURES

Supply held in older BTC bands

For the free data series, LOOK CRYPTO uses the available supply unmoved for six months or more as a conservative proxy for long-term holder behavior.

HOW IT IS CALCULATED

Sum of older age bands

Σ BTC last moved ≥ 6 months ago

The current level is paired with its 30-day change. Direction is more useful than the absolute level alone.

HOW TO INTERPRET

Rising means holding; falling means reactivation

  • 30d > 0Older-coin supply is growing as coins age into the cohort, consistent with accumulation.
  • 30d < 0Supply is shrinking as previously dormant coins move again, which can accompany distribution.
  • ≈ 0A balance between new coins aging into the band and older coins being spent.
HOW TO USE IT

Confirm with LTH-SOPR and CDD

A declining LTH Supply becomes more meaningful when Coin Days Destroyed also rises and long-term holders realize substantial profit.

LIMITATION

The proxy is not the full LTH cohort

The 6M+ series is not a complete entity-adjusted LTH Supply measure. Coin movement also does not prove an exchange sale.
